Canvases

We offer a range of stretching services including Artists Canvas, stretching paintings or fabrics, as well as prints on canvas. We offer a range of depths on our stretcher bars, from 1″ up to 2" chunky gallery stretcher as standard although we have made up to a 25cm deep box canvas. Canvas stretchers can be made to almost any size, including very large formats with corner and cross supports.

We use a 9oz cotton duck canvas as standard and acrylic primer, but other weights and finishes are available such as linen and Gesso.

The wood we use is specially made from winter-cut, finger-jointed and laminated Baltic pine. This gives an advantage of removing all knots and making the timber very strong and very straight.

All stretcher bars come machined to a radius of 2.25mm on the top outside edge. This gives the optimum combination of crisp edge without cracking the paint or ink on the canvas.
