Studio4 Gallery

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

We are constantly getting new stock in the gallery, all sorts of  prints and bits and pieces, we  re-arrange every so often so there’s always something new to discover, a lot of the vintage posters and film posters are very reasonably priced, including frame, art doesn’t have to cost a fortune! Don’t be afraid, we’re not a big scary pretentious art gallery, pop down to Custard Factory for a relaxed mooch.

Death’s Head Hawk Moth

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

I’d like to think we can frame almost anything, here we framed a Death-Head Hawkmoth, so called because of the “skull” in it’s back pattern. Nicely box framed, actually an obscure film memorabilia piece as this species was used in the film Silence of the Lambs.

Portrait

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

This was a really interesting Portrait we framed made by tiny pinpricks in the paper allowing silver enamel painted on the back to seep through, we get spoiled here by our fantastic customers at The Framers with all the great art that comes through our door, everyday is like visiting a new gallery!

Let the Right One In

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Amazing poster we framed for the film Let the Right One In, ridiculously detailed illustration by the talented Tyler Stout, it even glows in the dark, looked great in gothic ornate frame!

Lucy McLauchlan

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

I could write an S.A. on here about how great Lucy is but I’ll just mention we do a lot of framing for her, amazingly talented local lass, up to all sorts of projects and exhibitions all over the world, she’s represented by POW as well, as if her personal credentials and achievements aren’t enough, Banksy is digging her too! We also have a few of her prints available in Studio 4 gallery.

Faile

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

We get a lot of street art prints through our doors for framing, being friends of a few well known street artists and having framed for folks like Lazarides gallery, Scrawl Collective, Stolen Space Gallery, Fame and Pictures on Walls we have a good reputation for framing these prints. These are a couple of Faile prints we had come through a while back, love their work, check out boneyard project they were recently involved with.

Bus Blinds

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

We got hold of these original old Birmingham Bus Blinds for the galley, noticed they had some in Selfridges for twice as much as we charge! We have a selection of destinations available, pop into the gallery and ask if you’re interested.

Shirley Hughes

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

A nice signed print we framed by the children’s book illustrator Shirley Hughes, her book Dogger was my favourite book as a kid, lovely stuff!

Examples

Here’s a couple of photos of some populer finishes we are often asked for, a stained wood and a coloured ornate, both of which are stained, waxed or coloured by hand in house, we can match almost any colour or wood finish.
